Hello Lovely Locked Sisters and Brothers
I'm back with an update. I've totally ignored my strategy to update frequently! I've been tagged, but I can't figure out how to link back and follow the intructions, but I promise to work on it!
My time has been filled lately with work and planning to attend the wedding of a friend that I met on a online dating site....Yep, I'm looking for a committed relationship by increasing my circle of acquaintences...and can you say it's more of a trip online dating than the sisterlock journey..lol. anyway, I couldn't decide what to wear to the wedding. Since I wouldn't know anyone other than the groom and he was no help with determining exactly what to wear at an evening reception at a resort in california. I'm from Indiana and any wedding is an occasion to pull out your best dress and stillettos. But you hear so much about Californians being so laidback and casual. I ended up with about six outfits to choose from, of course, I couldn't pack that many for the plane..I ended up with three, quickly went down to two, hating them both for the event for various reasons, then finally settling on a combination of one of the dresses and a jacket that made me feel comfortable and appropriate.
As for my hair, we all know that we don't have to worry or be concerned about a bad hair day! smiles... My hair is right at the 1 month mark, it's filling out a little each time I wash each week. I'm scheduled for my first retight in one week, so I'll be back with more photos then...until enjoy my dress drama dilemma! Sharon

Leighann Welcome to Indy and Morty's
I got to meet Leighann at Morty's Comedy Joint last night! Me and my crew had such a great time, way too many laughs...not to mention apple martinis...at Morty's. I was so excited when I heard over our local hip hop station that Leighann Lord would be the headliner at Morty's...I'm thinking to myself, Ive heard that name, I've heard that name...but dang, I'm getting older and having some SENIOR moments..more than I'd care to admit...anyway...I did remember that I knew the name from somewhere...
Well as a two week SL newbie...I'm on and off LockItUp, Facebook and any blogs that I find links for...well here's the answer...she's my SISTER IN LOCKS! I called and emailed all of my friends and was so excited about attending the show...of course they didn't understand my urgency, but I did convince a couple to come hang out and check out the show! Leighann KILLED! She is off the chain...so talented...and very URBANE...lol..this is from a joke she told...you'll have to ask her...anyway. I wanted to quickly share my excitement and ask everyone who has an opportunity to definately check our her show. Leighann, I hope you'll return to Indy soon! Please feel free to contact me if you do, I'd be happy to be your local tour guide..not that there is a whole lot to see in Indy! But I know enough so that you'll have a few laughs or see something off the beaten track! Here's a photo for us that Leighann was gracious enough to pose for...and I was so excited, I forget to get my copy of the dvd! I'll go get one from your website! Thanks again! Mad, mad love! Sharon

Hard Week At Work
Have you ever had that extra hard week at work...no brilliant ideas, nothing goes exactly the way it's planned, so the outlook for the next week is "Let's get back to the drawing board"? Well that's how my week went! And let's not even discuss the fact that it's taken 2 weeks for all of the hair questions to start up!..Hey did you cut your hair? That's certainly different! Hmmm...Hmmn..can you change it back? I really liked your hair before! I say WHATEVER! I love my dinky, curly, nappy, little babies! Be encouraged! And this little joke made me laugh out loud before leaving my hellified week behind! Peace y'all!
Today's reading is from the Book of Government Life, Chapter 11, Verses 1-15:
1. In the beginning was the Plan.
2. And then came the Assumptions.
3. And the Assumptions were without form.
4. And the Plan was without Substance.
5. And darkness was upon the face of the Workers.
6. And Workers spoke among themselves saying, "It is a crock of shit and it stinks."
7. And Workers went unto their Supervisors and said, "It is a crock of dung and we cannot live with the smell."
8. And Supervisors went unto their Managers saying, "It is a container of organic waste, andit is very strong, such that none may abide by it."
9. And Managers went unto their Directors, saying, "It is a vessel of fertilizer, and none may abide its strength."
10. And Directors spoke among themselves, saying to one another; "It contains that which aids plant growth, and it is very strong."
11. And Directors went to Vice President, saying unto him, "It promotes growth, and it is very powerful."
12. And Vice President went to the President, saying unto him "It has very powerful effects."
13. And the President looked upon the Plan and saw that it was good.
14. And the Plan became Policy.
15. And that's how shit happens.

The longest journey begins with the first steps...
I'm official! I've taken the first step in my loc journey. I've often been reminded by my elders that all journeys begin by taking the first step. I've accomplished my first step.
Thanks to all of the bloggers who have taken the time to post their stories, advice and photos. I felt that I couldn't offer anything less to those who will decide to make their own journey!
I am the worlds biggest lurker! I have always been facinated by natural hair. I believe that our different textures are exotic and very touchable. It's so addictive to read everyone's blog and view the photos. I especially love when everyone updates frequently! So I will endeavor to update as often as possible and show the progress...step by step!
